Surreal

We have discussed and decided we would like our video to have a surreal aspect to it, I drew this inspiration from the video for Deep Down Low by Valentino Khan.

This video is extremely weird and obscure and in ours we would not wish for the obscurity to go this far however the video is good to look at in terms of getting inspiration and building ideas for our own video.

We were coming up with lots if different ideas, to add a surreal aspect to our video, such as having one of the dances mouth words and in the close up show as they open, more and more mouths appear all lip syncing to the song. This image depicts the sort of look we are after.

We then came up with the idea of having some sort of coloured liquid coming out of the mouth as they speak the words to add to the surreal, obscurity of the video.

Furthermore, instead of having the video change entirely to be a surreal video, we only want surreal aspects and so to add to this idea we came up with the girls being painted rather than wearing t shirts, or as well as so that we can play with continuity and have shots where the girls are wearing t shirts, and where they aren't to reveal the paint underneath their clothes. To do this we came up with the idea of the dancers swaying, and as they sway the shots change from them wearing t shirts, to not wearing t shirts so that the viewers can see the paint revealed underneath. This flicking between shots will get faster and faster as the beat builds up.

We thought of having Jonty painted silver in his chest and neck area to match the girls, but instead of being a plain colour it would be metallic to allow him to be separated slightly from the dancers. The dancers would have a ring of paint around their body.
