Animatics for the video

This is the animatic for our video.

To create this we took videos of our storyboard's frames and then cut them together to the beat of the music.

  • This has been very useful as it has enabled me and my group to envision what our music video is going to look like and the kind of vibe it will have, though obviously we are having to envision it with a lack of colour and movement, we are still able to see and portray to others what we want our video to look like.
  • We have identified that quick cuts and cuts back and forth as the beat is building up will work and look good, and slow cuts will not work with the pace of the song. Furthermore, the shot of the mouth lip syncing works very well and we really like the idea.
  • We need more shots, though a  lot of them will be repeated, we still need a broader range to keep the audience interested and involved.
  • We need to think about the drummer and whether or not we are going to include him, and if we are we need to think about where we are placing him and the sort of setting he will be in.
  • Now we are going to plan every last thing to do with our music video and get it down so that when we come back after half term we are able to get on with it and know exactly what it is we are looking for in our video.

You have completed and uploaded your animatic – well done. There is evident very good graphic design and appropriate technical coding to the storyboard will adheres to MV conventions - this still needs to be uploaded. This in essences will help you and your group visualise the MV product that you want to shoot.

You have posted detailed set design and recorded your discussion and feedback with the set designers. What you do is account for the set design can be developed with key decisions made on builds, props, costume and make-up. These are completed and justified on your blog – well done. Have you auditioned the dance routine - what alternative students can you cast. Will they need bluecards?
