Today we had a talk from George (the lighting director for the music video shoots) and he was telling us what we could do with the lighting in our promos.
The lights that are available and what they can do:
- Atomic 3000 x2, Strobes, 3 or 4 a second 100 a second (stop motion effect)
- UV canons x2, UV paint (shooting it around)
- Source 4 juniors, spotlights adjustable spot sizes add gel or colour to front
- Thomas 4 cyc lite, 4 individual light cells, green screen aspects or infinity screen aspects
- Galaxia led soft light, lighting faces e.t.c. no shadows, not harsh
- Pixelline 1044, long led batons that change colour and can do colour runs
- Sharpy wash 330, can tilt, pan move e.t.c. Wash light can change colour (any colour) change beam size, can be made frosted or hard edged
- Martin mac 700 profile, can do anything can be moved and adjusted, can have gobos (shapes and cut out effects if need be)
You need to blog an account of the changes to your concept - see what Vogue has completed. Good description of lighting design but you need to account for decisions that you will make in selecting the lighting design for your video - Plus post a new timeline and your storyboard as soon as possible.
